The 87th Medical Group is an Air Force outpatient medical treatment facility operating on Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, NJ. The medical group mission is to deliver mission-ready medics, a medically-ready Force, patient-centered care, and a healthy Joint Base community. The 400-member medical group operates a multi-specialty outpatient clinic, with services described below. The ambulatory care clinic is located on Neely Road, near the Base Exchange and Commissary; and a dental clinic next to the Kish Airman Leadership School. Services are generally provided between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., Mondays through Fridays (closed the first Thursday of each month at noon for training; and closed weekends and Federal holidays). The medical group prepares Airmen to serve in home station and deployed environments, while meeting healthcare needs of nearly 17,000 TRICARE Prime enrollees and over 42,000 DOD beneficiaries in Central NJ.

87th Aerospace Medicine Squadron
The 87th Aerospace Medicine Squadron supports the operational Air Force by enhancing the health of its people, ensuring a fit force, preventing disease and injury, protecting the environment, and anticipating medical contingencies. Staff members provide a comprehensive population-based preventive medicine program for all beneficiaries to enhance wellness, performance, and readiness as well as assist the managed care function in implementing evidence-based, cost-effective practices.
87th Dental Squadron
The 87th Dental Squadron maintains comprehensive programs for the prevention and treatment of dental disease to ensure maximum personnel readiness and optimal oral health for active-duty members. The 87th DS ensures the dental health care system integrates quality, emergency care and accessibility.
87th Medical Operations Squadron
The 87th Medical Operations Squadron provides for the full scope of preventive and primary health care services for the empanelled population on Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. They are responsible for assessing the health care needs and expectations of the population served; develops processes to provide seamless, customer-focused access to care, diagnostic services, healthcare education and treatment services, referrals, continuity of care for preventive health care, health maintenance, acute and chronic diseases and injury management.

The 87th Medical Support Squadron maintains operating facility, budget, TRICARE access and management, logistics support, ancillary care and information management of the 87th Medical Group.
The 87th Medical Group's Airmen scored the highest achievable "Excellent" rating during the triennial Health Services Inspection while also securing a three year accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care organization.
