CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT JAMES E. FITCH II

 

CMSgt James “Bill” Fitch is the Command Chief Master Sergeant

for the 89th Airlift Wing, Andrews Air Force Base, Maryland. He is

the principle advisor to the commander on matters influencing the

health, morale, welfare, readiness and effective utilization of all

enlisted members of the SAM FOX Wing. The wing is responsible

for worldwide special air mission airlift, logistics, aerial port and

communications support for the President, Vice President,

combatant commanders, senior leaders and the global mobility

system as tasked by the White House, Chief of Staff of the Air

Force and Air Mobility Command. In addition, it provides 24/7 alert

airlift and operates an Executive Airlift Training Center and

Government Network Operations Center.

Chief Fitch and his wife Denise grew up in Flora, Illinois and are

the proud parents of three beautiful daughters. He entered the Air

Force in November 1995, and his background includes duties as

an Evaluator/Instructor Boom Operator with over 3600 hours in

KC-135R/T aircraft. His assignments include bases in North

Dakota, Texas, England, Hawaii and Washington. He has 16

deployments supporting Operations SOUTHERN/NORTHERN

WATCH, DESERT FOX, ALLIED FORCE, ENDURING/IRAQI

FREEDOM and JOINT GUARDIAN. Before assuming his current

position, he served as the 92d Operations Group Superintendent, Fairchild AFB, Washington.
