JB MDL 9/11 Ruck March

Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst security forces members strapped an American flag and a Security Forces Defensive Fortis flag to their ruck sacks before setting out on the last leg of the Air Force 9/11 Ruck March to Remember Sept. 11. The security forces members marched from the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum to Battery Park, where 2,796 flags covered the area to honor each person who died on 9/11. The ruck march started at Joint Base San Antonio, Texas July 17 and was completed with the help of 23 units carrying the guidon up to New York City.. Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst security forces members receive applause from New York City police officers as they march towards Battery Park Sept. 11. The security forces members started the last leg of a 2,100 mile ruck march at the Intrepid Sea, Air and Space Museum. The march began at Joint Base San Antonio, Texas July 17 and ended Sept. 11 at Battery Park where security forces members were met by New York citizens.
