Air Force Combat Action Medal

Col. John Wood, 87th Air Base Wing commander, presents Staff Sgt. The principal eligibility criteria for the Air Force Combat Action Medal is the individual must have been under direct and hostile fire while operating in unsecured space (outside the defended perimeter), or physically engaged with hostile forces with direct and lethal fire.
