Chief Warrant Officer Steven Brown, 203rd Transportation Company commander and skipper of the LSV-8 MG Robert Smalls, along with Chief Warrant Officer Andrew Kostyn, 2nd mate, steer the ship from its dock in Baltimore harbor. Brown has over 30 years experience with Army watercraft. The Robert Smalls is the sixth ship he’s commanded during his career.
