Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst personnel have positioned all of its
aircraft inside hangars or evacuated them to other installations in preparation for
Hurricane Irene. Base members have secured all valuable materials inside
buildings and hangars. An Emergency Operations Center has been set up to
monitor the hurricane's path and manage actions pertaining to the severe
weather prior to, during and following the hurricane. An emergency
management crew will be dispatched, pending allowable conditions, to perform
clean-up and an overall assessment of the damage around the installation.
