Our office acts as a liaison for the retiree and local civilian community. We handle queries pertaining to agencies concerning medical, legal, survivor benefit program, TRICARE, etc. in addition to hosting an annual Retiree Appreciation Day.

The Retiree Activities Office is located in Building 2916, just to the left of the base's main gate. Our office hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday - Friday except for holidays.

tabTax Center Volunteers
We are asking that one volunteer be appointed from each squadron at JB MDL to train and help complete tax returns using the IRS's Taxwise program.  The volunteer can be any military personnel, retirees, spouses, or civilians with valid ID cards allowing them access to JB MDL.  You may appointment more than one volunteer, if you would like because some squadrons unfortunately choose not to participate in this program.  Please disseminate to your Key Spouse groups who may be interested as well.

Although there are many great volunteer opportunities out there, few provide the opportunity to learn a new lifelong skill set, build one's resume, meet new people, and to help out the JB MDL community.  The Legal Office will do its very best to make sure each volunteer is recognized for service (Letters of Appreciation, Achievement Medals for the most deserving, and a luncheon).

The Tax Center will be open weekdays from 2 February to mid-April in 2015.
The time commitment after the initial certification course will be 4-6 hours a week through 15 April 2015.

Thank you for your assistance with this cause.  Please have the name of your volunteer to Mr. Christopher A. Huling, Esq., our civilian attorney who will be coordinating the Tax Program this year, by COB Wednesday, 9 January 2015 , so we can order the appropriate number of training materials.  We are hoping to save as many Airmen, Marines, Sailors, and Soldiers of the Joint
Base Community as much money as possible.   Mr. Huling can be reached by
email at Christopher.Huling@us.af.mil or by phone at DSN 650-1594.
