305th SEMI-ANNUAL MUNITIONS INVENTORY
The 305th Munitions Storage Area will be closed for a Semi-Annual Closed Door Munitions Inventory from March 2 - 6, 2015.  All munitions requests must be submitted prior to February 17 in order to be processed the week prior to the inventory.  Only emergency issue requests will be processed during this inventory time frame. NAUS 2015 Scholarship Program
The National Association for Uniformed Services is accepting applications for its 2015 scholarship program. Ten $2,000 scholarships are available for the 2015-2016 school year. NAUS is the Nation's only organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the earned benefits of uniformed service members, retirees, veterans, and their families and survivors. 87th LRS/IPEE Closure

ARC Care Packages
The American Red Cross has care packages items available for deploying service members from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursday and Fridays at 6051 Doughboy Loop. Available items are: toothpaste, mouthwash, shampoo, conditioner, baby wipes, protein bars, sunflower seeds, dvds, candy, lotion, beef jerky, helmet liners, socks, gum, coffee, hot chocolate and assorted hygiene items.

87th ABW/JA Paralegal Recruiting

ASA-Dix Claims Office

Newcomer's Orientation briefing and tour
The Military and Family Support Center is set to host a Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst Newcomer's Orientation briefing and tour from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. every second Thursday of the month at the MFSC, located at 3435 Broidy Road. Newly arrived military and civilian personnel from all military branches are invited to attend this orientation to ease in-processing and to identify services and programs. Diamond Time at the DFAC
The Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst First Sergeants are set to host "Diamond Time" from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. every first and third Wednesday of the month, in the Halverson Dining Facility, located at 2635 Tuskegee Airmen Ave. This is a great time to sit down and meet with different First Sergeants for friendly conversation over lunch.

Chat and Chew Session
A Chat and Chew session is available every Tuesday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 5605 Doughboy Loop. Ideas for discussion are: challenges of being a geo-bachelor, parenting from afar, handling work stress, communication family and work, bring what's on your mind. The 87th Force Support Squadron Education and Training Center is set to host a GI Bill 101 from 9 to 10 a.m. first Thursday of every month, at 3829 Schoolhouse Road, Falcon Courts North. Learn the difference between the Montgomery GI Bill and the Post 9/11 GI Bill and how to convert one to the other and how to transfer the benefit to a family member. The 87th Air Base Wing Judge Advocate Office is offering legal assistance for service members in need of a power of attorney or will. Navy Marine Corps Relief Society Thrift Store
The Navy Marine Corps Relief Society Thrift Store is open every Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday 9 a.m. to noon and Thursday 1-5 p.m. at 158 Berry Road. The sales income received from thrift shops is returned to the Sailors, Marines and their families in the form of emergency financial relief services. Donations after hours may be placed in the donation locker located by the front door. Opportunities are available for volunteers to sort merchandise, arrange displays and work as cashiers. Neighborhood Community Watch Meetings
The joint base community is set to hold a meeting for the neighborhood community watch program from 7 to 8 p.m. every second Tuesday of the month in Falcons Court North. The meeting is intended to inform community members on how they can help protect the community by taking part in neighborhood watches and patrols. Call 723-6563 for more information.

Firehouse Movie Night
A movie night is scheduled for 8 p.m. every second Friday of the month at The Airmen's Firehouse, located at 2502 East Arnold Ave. This event is open to all E-1s through E-4. Free popcorn and beverages will be available. Call 754-2233 for more information.

Crafty Birthday Parties
The Arts and Crafts Center, located at 6039 Philadelphia St. offers a chance for community members to host birthday parties at the center. Parties include two hours of party room use and one craft project with an instructor and all materials. Choose from a ceramic painting or plush animals parties. Call 562-5691 for more information.

Home School Art Class
The Arts and Crafts Center offers a 10-week mixed media course for ages six and up. Five sessions of pottery and five sessions of fine arts are included. Call 562-5691 for more information.

Financial Readiness Program
The Financial Readiness Program assists service members and their families in improving personal financial status and their ability to perform as informed consumers. The program focuses on improving credit reliability and reducing debt. Available services include: complaint resolution, individual counseling, training classes, resource library, debt liquidation, budget development and planning. Call 754-3154 for more information.

Education and Training ABCs of College Briefing
An ABCs of College information session is set to be held every third Thursday of the month at 9 a.m. in the Education Center, 3829 School House Road., Falcon Courts North housing area Room 206. The briefing will provide information on how to choose a school and major, determine payment methods, plan for career success, register for upcoming classes and gain information about degree types. MPS Passport Appointments
The Military Personnel Section passport office will accept appointments only for official passport processing. Appointments are available from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Fridays. Call 754-3826 to schedule an appointment. Passport pick-ups will continue to be handled on a walk-in basis during normal MPS customer service hours. As a reminder, customers assigned to the 6th Airlift Squadron, 621st Contingency Response Wing, 21st Expeditionary Mobility Task Force and the U.S. Army have separate passport agents in their units who are able to service their passport/Visa needs. Aside from these classes, hospital tours, home visits, and one-on-one education are also provided for military families expecting a child or with a child under age three. Alcoholics Anonymous Meeting
The Alcoholics Anonymous meeting is set to be held from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. every Tuesday at Range Control Headquarters on Dix. Alcoholics Anonymous is a 12-step support group whose only requirement is the desire to stop drinking. This meeting is an open meeting available to anyone who wants or needs to better understand alcoholism and its effects. There are no dues or fees, only the desire to live a life free from alcohol. Walson Army Hospital Demolition
Demolition of the Walson Army Hospital and associated facilities is expected to take approximately seven months. Detour around the site will continue through December 2015. New Jersey Avenue will be closed to all but local traffic between 4th Street and Summerall Avenue for the duration of the demolition and traffic will be routed around the site via N. Scott Plaza, Maryland Avenue and 8th Street. 4th Street between General's Circle and New Jersey Avenue will be closed for the duration of the work. Patrons of the golf course need to use additional caution when crossing Fort Dix Road and New Jersey Avenue due to increase traffic volumes on these roads.

Construction of new Dining Facility
Construction of a new dining facility in the 5500 area is expected through March 2016. Affected areas are: Area bounded by 8th Street to the South, North Street to the West and North, and Texas Avenue to the East. North Street will be closed for the duration of the project. Anticipate construction deliveries and equipment entering and leaving the site onto 8th Street and Texas Ave.

Construction of a new Central Issue Facility
Construction of a new Central Issue Facility in the 3100 Area is expected through December 2015.  Affected areas are: Center Street to the West, Ramp Street to the North, Loops Street to the East, and Supply Road to the South. Anticipate increased traffic due to construction vehicles and material deliveries in the vicinity of the project. Ramp Street will be closed on start of the work and will become the entry drive for the facility once work is completed.

One-Mile Track Closure
The One-Mile track located in the 6800 area on ASA-Dix, is closed and unavailable for use until Spring 2015 pending completion of construction. The area is an active construction zone and is inherently unsafe, personnel should avoid the area.

waste will not be picked up if it contains
trash, recycling, rocks, or dirt. 

Recycling Guidelines
Recycling materials must be placed
 at the curb by 6 a.m. biweekly on Thursday.
Do not place any paper or cardboard in
your recycling bin, trash can or plastic bag.
Paper can be placed in a brown bag,
bundled or placed in a low-lying box.
Shredded paper must be placed in a
paper bag or in a cardboard box.
Cardboard boxes must be flattened
and bundled. Cans, glass bottles and
plastics must be rinsed clean.
Do not flatten or place in plastic bags.
Labels can stay on but caps and lids
must be thrown away in the garbage.
