The 305th Maintenance Group, formerly the 305th Logistics Group, was activated Oct. 1, 2002. A pivotal component of our Air and Space Expeditionary Force, it consists of five squadrons with more than 1,500 active-duty military members and civilians working hand-in-hand inspecting, securing, repairing and launching 32 KC-10A and 16 C-17 aircraft, as well as providing global cargo and passenger transportation and distribution. The contributions of the Maintenance Group Airmen enable the movement of people and valuable supplies, as well as provide air-refueling capability in direct support of Global Reach for America. The group coordinates and controls military and commercial air freight in addition to performing scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance to ensure unit readiness for 45 assigned and transient aircraft.
